This week about tying it all together… What happens in a study like this?

  1. I become overwhelmed.

Isaiah 6:5 (NKJV) So I said: “Woe is me, for I am undone! Because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, The LORD of hosts.”

Romans 7:18 (NKJV) For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells; for to will is present with me, but how to perform what is good I do not find.

  1. I am tempted to quit.

Galatians 6:9 (NKJV) And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.

  1. I develop pride in what “I” have done.

1 Corinthians 1:26–29 (NKJV) 26 For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. 27 But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; 28 and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, 29 that no flesh should glory in His presence.

Encouragement for the journey…

Hebrews… 13 exhortations in 12 verses…

  1. Hebrews 4:1 (NKJV) 1 Therefore, since a promise remains of entering His rest, let us fear lest any of you seem to have come short of it.
  1. Hebrews 4:11 (NKJV) 11 Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience.
  1. Hebrews 4:14 (NKJV) 14 Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.
  1. Hebrews 4:16 (NKJV) 16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
  1. Hebrews 6:1 (NKJV) 1 Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God,
  1. Hebrews 10:22 (NKJV) 22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.
  1. Hebrews 10:23 (NKJV) 23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.
  1. Hebrews 10:24 (NKJV) 24 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works,
  1. Hebrews 12:1a (NKJV) 1 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us,
  1. Hebrews 12:1b (NKJV) and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,
  1. Hebrews 12:28 (NKJV) 28 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear.
  1. Hebrews 13:13 (NKJV) 13 Therefore let us go forth to Him, outside the camp, bearing His reproach.
  1. Hebrews 13:15 (NKJV) 15 Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.

I have decided to follow Jesus

No turning back…

The Cross before me, the world behind me
